CasteFiles Lists Six Milestones in Dismantling the Cisco Caste Discrimination Case.

Since June 2020, six significant milestones have helped dismantle the Cisco caste discrimination case, according to CasteFiles' analysis. Key achievements include the April 2023 case dismissal against Cisco managers Iyer and Kompella, sanctions against the CRD, and rejecting the Equality Labs survey. Additionally, the anonymity clause was struck down, revealing John Doe as Chetan Narsude, and the CRD was forced to amend its complaint, removing prejudicial language. Finally, Cisco exposed Narsude's incompetence and false victim claims. A shot in the arm was when the court awarded $2,000 in sanctions against CRD in favor of Cisco.

CasteFiles Lists Six Milestones in Dismantling the Cisco Caste Discrimination Case.

Since June 2020, when the Cisco caste discrimination case was first filed by California's civil rights department, against two Indian American Managers, there have been many wins, specifically six milestones that dismantled the caste discrimination hoax in the US as analyzed by our think tank CasteFiles.

i. Dismissal of Case Against Iyer, Kompella: On April 10, 2023, the entire Indian American community in Silicon Valley celebrated the dismissal of the case against the two Cisco managers Iyer and Kompella. The Cisco case was the only real hook to justify the SB403 Caste Bill. It was a flimsy case and SB403 was eventually defeated.  “Advocacy work can rarely have such direct result and impact – The dismantling of the Cisco case played its part - CRD abused the due process but the justice system in the US still works, it helped that the managers were innocent," exulted Gautam. The CRD was forced to withdraw the case, due to the motion for sanctions filed by Iyer and Kompella – the sanctions would have exposed the loopholes of the case during the divisive SB403 caste bill battle. However, disregarding the weakness of their case, CRD continued the case against the company [Cisco Systems]. The media and CRD underplayed the lost case against the Cisco managers.

ii. Sanctions Against CRD: The sanctions that CRD escaped in April 2023 have returned to haunt it in May 2024. It must be quite embarrassing for Kevin Kish to have gone to town with this case citing rampant caste discrimination in the US. “Professor Salvatore Babones wrote about the weaponization of caste in the USA by the Muslim-Dalit-Sikh trifecta. He also mentions the powerful CRD - the agency that wielded power and weaponized caste against Hindu Americans, in a manufactured lawsuit," said Gautam.

iii. Rejection of Equality Labs Survey: When Judge Drew Takaichi threw out Equality Labs’ survey report submitted by CRD as evidence of caste discrimination, the Indian-American community was relieved. All experts acknowledged the report as unscientific and a collection of flimsy anonymous anecdotes. The Carnegie Endowment report had instead already shown that caste identity was diluted in immigrant Indians and their children, and caste discrimination was the least of the concerns for the community.

iv. Anonymity Clause Denied: When the anonymity clause was struck down and John Doe was revealed as Chetan Narsude in December 2023 –Americans finally knew the name of the person responsible for the controversial caste phenomenon in the USA. “While faces and names of Iyer and Kompella were splashed around media as upper crust Brahminical oppressor class, the alleged Dalit victim Chetan Narsude hid under the convenient cloak of John Doe. While Sundar Iyer quit his position due to the trauma of the caste case, Chetan Narsude continued to draw his fat paycheck,” one Cisco employee told us in confidence. He was one of the thirty employees at Cisco Systems who had penned an open letter to the California Civil Rights Department (CRD) addressing its deeply concerning case against Cisco Systems by highlighting the severe dishonesty displayed by the CRD, which they believe unfairly targeted both them and their employer.

v. Amendment of Complaint: Another civil rights win occurred when CRD’s violation of the First Amendment rights of Hindu Americans was challenged in court. CRD had to reword their complaint removing objectionable language prejudicial towards Hindu Americans. It is worth noting that the CRD deleted contentious language against Hinduism calling hierarchical caste and caste discrimination integral to the faith.

vi. Exposed Incompetence of Chetan Narsude: In a publicly available court testimonial, Cisco Systems exposed Chetan Narsude, the millionaire who filed the caste complaint with CRD under the cloak of anonymity. “John Doe aka Chetan Narsude is not the poor Dalit and helpless victim as claimed by the media,” said Abhijit Bagal pointing out Narsude’s lies which were validated by the Court’s emphasis on the lack of specific and current evidence of harm. “Narsude never applied for a promotion that he accused Iyer of denying him. Iyer in addition paid Doe several million dollars to join his startup, giving up his own Cisco equity,” he shared.
