Dr. Ankita Dutta is Assistant Professor at Centre for Indic Studies, Indus University, Ahmedabad. She has completed her MPhil and PhD from the Center for Political Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has worked on the Vaishnavite Movement in Assam with special reference to the role of the Sattra and the Namghar in the Preservation of the Assamese Hindu Identity. She has also investigated the Christian missionary conversions in Upper Assam, especially those districts bordering the Catholic Christian dominated neighboring states of Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. She has worked on a research fellowship project under Indic Academy entitled "Matri Shakti worship in Bharatvarsh: A Study of the Three Shaktapeeths of Poorvottar Bharat '' under the supervision of Sumedha Verma Ojha.
